Depression

 

Depression is known as a priority problem for public health, approximately 50 million people around the world suffer from depression. To find a depressed person is necessary to observe some points such as sadness, frequent crying, apathy, anxiety, despair, extreme irritation, lack of feeling, boredom, guilt, decreased sexual desire, loss or increased appetite, fatigue, low self-esteem, helplessness, and shame. 

Usually a person becomes depressed about losing something or someone, like the death of a loved one, loss of employment, loss of their homes, loss of status ...

Depression can be divided into subtypes:

-recurrent depressive disorder, classified by ICD-10 as mild, moderate or severe according to symptoms and intensity.

, dysthymia, chronic depression lasting enough that usually begins in adulthood.

-atypical depression, episodes occur in mild to severe.

-endogenous or melancholic depression, is a type of depression independent from neurobiological and psychological factors. -psychotic depression is when  serious delusions of guilt, denial of organs or hallucinations are occurring.

-depressive stupor, is a very serious condition  because the patient stay days in bed without making any effort to get out of that situation. A depressed person can get to death for not responding to life and may be dehydrated, get pneumonia, or pre-renal failure.

-agitated depression or anxious, let the person strongly anxious and restless. They feel anxious, angry and there is serious risk of suicide.

-secondary depression, is associated with a disease such as stroke, Parkinson's ...

A depressed person need medical care at times with the use of drugs and psychotherapy treatment or even all of them.
