The headache is a painful sensation that
can manifest itself in various ways, in the head, face or neck. It can
be caused by several factors such as extension of the muscles of the
shoulders, neck, skull and face, neurological problems, hypertension,
tempromandibular dysfunction, anxiety, depression, irritation and
others. Because there are several ways to trigger the headache, there
are approximately 300 types of headache.
Among the various forms of
headache, the most frequent are those caused by:
- Muscle contractions: cause
tensions in the muscles of the face, neck, shoulder, skull and diaphragm
in a long period of stress, fatigue and others.
- Widening of cerebral blood
vessels: pressure to dilate the nerves and cause pain.
- Infection or increased brain
pressure: Also known as secondary pain, is caused when there is some
disease such as sinusitis, brain tumours, meningitis, etc..
The headache can not be
considered a disease because it can be perceived, is always a sign that
something is functioning abnormally. Thus, the important thing is to
seek medical advice to make the correct diagnosis and proper treatment.
As the most common form is the
tension, usually the processing is done based on methods that relieve
muscular tension, analgesics, anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxants,
tranquilizers and antidepressants.
Note: When headaches occur
frequently or three times each week, should be sought as soon as
possible an expert, it can be a sign of a serious problem that requires
treatment.
